An AI lab for schools in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar used to be a nice-to-have. Then the money arrived. A report marking AURIC's sixth anniversary credits Bidkin alone with investments of about ₹76,200 crore, names Ather Energy, Toyota Kirloskar and JSW Green Mobility among the investors, and attaches 35,000-plus jobs to the number.

If you run a school here, those figures are not abstract. They are the parents in your admission queue. So where does a Class 6 student in this city first meet EV systems, automation or AI? For most schools, the honest answer is nowhere. Not until an ITI, a polytechnic or an engineering college.

Why are Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar schools suddenly asking about AI and EV labs?

Picture a CBSE school near Chikalthana with 900 students. A parent on the admission tour asks one question: what will my child learn here that is useful in an EV economy? The principal has a computer lab and a robotics club that meets twice a month. That answer used to be enough. It is getting harder to give.

The pressure is not only from parents. In August, CII's western region deputy chairman told a media roundtable in the city that Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar can grow into a globally competitive advanced manufacturing hub, provided Auric, its industrial base and its workforce are put to full use. Notice that workforce is one of his three conditions. Schools sit at the very start of that workforce, whether they planned to or not.

Who is training the Auric workforce, and where do schools fit?

Industry is not sitting still. It is just starting at the wrong end.

  • On 22 September, Ather Energy signed MoUs with four institutions (ICEEM, ISIEINDIA, Yashodeep Knowledge Hub and Jijamata ITI) covering EV curriculum design, faculty development and technical training, as reported by The Manufacturing Frontier.
  • In February, JSW Motors signed with Tata IIS in Mumbai for a curriculum on EV systems, automation, welding, CNC operations and battery systems, according to Autocar Professional. JSW keeps control of hiring.
  • A June recruitment listing for JSW Greentech's Learn and Earn trainee programme at Bidkin named Class 12 pass or ITI as the entry point.

College. ITI. Training institute. Plant floor. As reported, none of these programmes reaches a school classroom.

A student in Class 6 this year sits the Class 12 boards in 2033. The plants at Bidkin will have been running for years by then. Who is preparing that student?

We build AI systems for enterprise clients, so we know how hiring managers talk about talent. They rarely ask about certificates. They ask whether a person can reason about a system, debug it and work in a team. Those habits form between Classes 6 and 10, long before any MoU begins.

What does CBSE expect from schools in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in 2026-27?

CBSE's Computational Thinking and AI curriculum for Classes 3 to 8 took effect this session under Circular Acad-15/2026, issued on 1 April 2026. It is woven into existing subjects rather than taught as a separate paper, and from Class 6 it moves into foundational AI concepts. So CBSE is not asking for a lab. It is asking for outcomes inside Maths, Science and the timetable.

But a mandate on paper and a working lab on campus are different things. A lab is the practical way to deliver those outcomes without burying your existing teachers. Schools seeking fresh affiliation also need a Composite Skill Lab, and already-affiliated schools are on a clock; our post on the CBSE Composite Skill Lab mandate explains the deadline. For the board-level picture, see AI labs for CBSE schools. Schools on the Maharashtra State Board have their own shift to plan for, which we cover in our guide to the CBSE-pattern move.

How much does an AI lab for schools in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar cost?

The traditional route costs ₹15 to ₹28 lakh upfront. Then comes depreciation. Then comes the hunt for a trainer who stays. Many of these labs sit underused within two or three years, and we have written about what a self-installed lab really costs once you count everything beyond the invoice. Our AI lab cost and ROI page puts the numbers side by side.

Fee structures in Marathwada are generally lower than in Pune or Mumbai, which stretches the payback period on a ₹20 lakh lab. A trustee here is right to ask a blunt question. What does the school get back? Usually a room. Sometimes a very quiet room.

How does a zero cost AI lab work for a Marathwada school?

The model is simple to state, and we would rather you check it than trust it. This is Lab-as-a-Service, and it works like this:

  • We fund and deploy the lab on your campus: hardware, software and kits. The school pays ₹0 for setup.
  • A technology integration fee is added to your existing fee structure, alongside tuition and activity fees.
  • The school collects the fee. We receive an operating cost share, and the school keeps a fixed profit margin per student, guaranteed by contract.
  • An on-campus engineer, a working professional and not a visiting trainer, runs every session.
  • Maintenance and hardware upgrades are included all year.
  • Deployment takes 45 days from partnership confirmation.

One practical step for Maharashtra schools: bring your PTA executive committee in early. Fee decisions at private schools in the state run through that committee under the fee regulation Act, so how the technology integration fee fits is a question for your trustees and legal counsel to confirm before anything is signed. The financial model shows what a school could earn, and you can read how the full partnership works in detail.

We are early, and we say so openly. That is exactly why schools that partner with us now receive founding partner status: direct access to our engineering team and the most room to shape the curriculum.

Which lab fits: AI Foundation, or the advanced tier with EV and drones?

We offer two tiers. The STEM & AI Foundation Lab covers AI and coding, robotics, IoT and tech entrepreneurship, and it suits a school building its first innovation lab. The Cognitive AI & Advanced Robotics Lab includes all of that and adds drones, EV technology, AR/VR and agentic AI.

Our view: schools within reach of Auric should look hard at the advanced tier. EV technology is the one domain a parent can connect to a local employer in a single sentence. The EV strand runs from battery systems to motor control and energy efficiency, and it grows with the student across our 10-year curriculum. To see what students actually do in that lab, read our EV lab guide for principals.

But the advanced tier is not automatic. If your school is starting from a basic computer lab, begin with Foundation and grow. A lab that runs well beats a lab that merely sounds impressive.

Can schools in Jalna, Beed, Latur or Nanded get the same lab?

Marathwada is bigger than one city. Whether we can place an on-campus engineer in a smaller district town depends on distance and on how many nearby schools want a lab, so we would rather talk it through than promise it in a blog post. If your school sits outside the city, tell us where. A cluster of three or four schools in one town changes the maths. For a sense of how we think about a regional city outside the Mumbai-Pune belt, our piece on zero cost AI labs for Nagpur schools is a good companion read.

What should a principal do in the next 45 days?

Our deployment clock is 45 days from confirmation. Yours starts earlier:

  • Pick a room and a coordinator. That is the school's entire contribution.
  • Check your timetable for lab periods across Classes 6 to 10.
  • Take the numbers to your trustees using the financial model.
  • Talk to your PTA executive committee before the fee conversation, not after.
  • Look at our plan for AI lab setup in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar schools and book a call.

Questions principals in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar ask us

Does Scaleopal Labs set up AI labs for schools in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar?

Yes. It is one of our focus cities in Maharashtra, and we are Maharashtra-first by design. The process starts with a short conversation about your space, your board and your timetable.

How much does an AI lab cost for a school here?

Setup costs the school ₹0 under our Lab-as-a-Service model. The usual purchase route runs ₹15 to ₹28 lakh upfront, before maintenance and trainer salaries.

Which boards can use the lab?

We work with CBSE, ICSE, IB, IGCSE and Maharashtra State Board schools, and the curriculum is aligned to each board's expectations.

Do students really learn EV technology in school?

Yes, in steps that suit their age. The EV strand builds from battery systems to motor control and energy efficiency, with an engineer guiding every session. It is not a trade course. It is the groundwork that makes a later ITI or engineering programme easier.

How long does it take, and who maintains the lab?

Deployment takes 45 days from partnership confirmation. Year-round maintenance and hardware upgrades are included at no extra cost.

Start where the pipeline starts

Ather and JSW are right to build talent pipelines. But a pipeline that begins at the ITI gate is starting late. The student who might run a battery line in 2033 is in Class 6 today, probably in a school in this city, probably without a lab.

So we come back to the ₹76,200 crore. Money like that does not change a city's schools on its own. Someone has to put an engineer in front of a Class 6 student and a working lab behind them. If you want to see how that could look for your school, start the conversation.

Start Where the Pipeline Starts

Give us a room and a coordinator. We fund the lab, place an on-campus engineer, and deploy in 45 days from partnership confirmation. Zero setup cost to your school.
